A while back I mentioned that people always are looking for new things to collect. I said vintage ashtrays were fun and affordable and they crossed many different areas of the collecting world. Travel and tourism, pop culture, entertainment, vintage-retro and a zillion more themes all can be found.
Along the same lines as ashtrays, old cigar boxes are fun to collect and can be found for any budget. They are going up in price and the days of the 50 cent garage sale cigar box maybe limited. It is still possible to get some nice mid-century examples for $5-$10 each. They are colorful, display easily, cross over into many different subjects and you can store stuff in them.
