North American P-51 Mustang. The coolest American-made, long range, single seat, fighter and fighter bomber ever built. Used extensively in World War II and Korea.

The first flight of the Mustang was on October 26, 1940 and it was put into regular service in 1942. It was retired in 1984 after being flown regularly by the Dominican Air Force.
