Mid-century, Swiss-made gentlemens time pieces. Just in, two fine men's wristwatches.

If you are a fan of vintage watches we just got two nice ones in from a prominent family here in Wausau. The first is a beautiful Omega. 17 Jewel Swiss caliber 269 Movement is a manual wind movement. It runs and keeps time in good order. The back has never been off this watch that I know of. I just replaced the crystal but will include the original one with it. The all metallic coloring plays on the subtle colorings in silver, coppery rose gold and pale champagne. 1 1/2" in diameter
Roman numerals, painted dots for alternating hours, second hand in circle below. Hands and numerals appear to be gold but may just be finished that way. Stainless case. Unbelievably beautiful, never restored or tinkered with. Visit The Omega Fanatic for more information and history. It is available for purchase here

The second one is a military watch that is also Swiss-made. This belonged to  a U.S. Army Major. The brand on it is Ralco and is quite handsome. Waterproof, shock protected and anti-magnetic. Ralco was manufactured by Movado an important and early Swiss maker. This watch is ca. 1940. It is available for purchase here

Here is Wiki's description of Movado: "Movado is one of the world's premier watchmakers, renowned for its iconic Museum dial and modern design aesthetic. Since its founding in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 1881, Movado has earned more than 100 patents and 200 international awards for artistry and innovation in watch design and technology, and Movado timepieces have won world renown for their unique beauty and timeless design".
