We love good folk art and this is as nice a carved coconut bank as you will find. The coconut may have been a prison piece or just a decorative carving for the tourist industry. This one is decorated with circus performers which is very rare. It has a man and a dancing horse. A dandy juggler in striped pants. Two figures, one walking on his hands and a man and woman possibly a knife thrower or a bearded lady. It is perfect structurally and the patina is 100% original. It is missing two tiny mother of pearl eyeballs. Besides banks I have seen cups, ladles and covered boxes but none with circus scenes.
